HC Deb 01 February 1988 vol 126 c508W
69. Mr. Morgan

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what representations he has received regarding direct electrification of rail services from Paddington to Heathrow airport; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. David Mitchell

We have received a large number of representations following the report on surface access to Heathrow by our consultants, Howard Humphreys and Partners, published in June 1987. These include representations on the possibility of an electrified link between Paddington and Heathrow. All the responses are now being considered and we will be making an announcement in due course.
