To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will introduce legislation to prohibit the sale of part-worn remould tyres; and if he will make a statement.

There is no reason to prohibit the sale of part-worn new or remoulded tyres. We are reviewing the Tyres (Safety) Regulations in the light of the recently amended British standard.
