To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will make a statement about any proposed collaborative programme for garsurm parenide chip development.
§ Mr. Forth
A national programme of collaborative research in gallium arsenide advanced technology has been supported by the Department of Trade and Industry since early 1987. Research into gallium arsenide analogue integrated circuits (chips) is included in this programme, for which £13 million of support is available.
