§ Mr. Michael ForsythNone. There is no legal requirement that the hospital, which has been empty since March 1988, be retained for a medical purpose. The Greater Glasgow health board has recently completed consultation about its proposals for the permanent closure of the hospital, which would require the consent of my right hon. and learned Friend.
