HC Deb 16 December 1988 vol 143 c754W
Mr. Nicholas Bennett

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security whether he will investigate why the Post Office has failed to pay the national insurance contributions deducted from Miss B. M. Shaw, formerly sub-post mistress of the Freshwater East sub-post office, for the first nine months of the financial year 1986–87; how many other Post Office employees are similarly affected; what action is being taken by his Department; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peter Lloyd

The Department is currently investigating the deficiency in the 1986–87 contribution record for Miss B. M. Shaw. I regret that I cannot as yet say how many other Post Office employees are similarly affected. I shall write to my hon. Friend when investigations are completed.
