§ Mr. Peter WalkerDesignated organisations based in Wales have been authorised to withdraw 176 tonnes of butter and 332 tonnes of beef from intervention stores in 1988. These amounts represent 7.15 per cent. and 18.74 per cent., respectively, of the total withdrawals authorised in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. Ron DaviesTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales what steps he is taking to see that foodstuffs available free under the European Economic Community free food scheme are available to all eligible people in Wales.
§ Mr. Peter WalkerProduce is being distributed within the rules of the scheme to eligible recipients in Wales by the organisations designated to carry out the distribution. Given the voluntary nature of the scheme it is not possible to ensure that foodstuffs are available to all eligible people.
