To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what is his estimate of additional staffing requirements for the Housing Corporation for the financial year 1988–89.

My Department is currently discussing with the Housing Corporation its additional staffing requirements for 1988–89 for new responsibilities under the Housing Act 1988. Final decisions have yet to be taken.
