§ Mr. Norman Lamont[holding answer 12 April 1988]: Take-up of mortgages being offered by the Nationwide Anglia Building Society under the special mortgage scheme for nurses and other National Health Service staff will depend on many factors. It is not possible to produce estimates of the impact which the changes to mortgage interest tax relief proposed in the 1988 Budget will have on take-up.
