To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will meet the chairman of Scottish and Newcastle Breweries to discuss the situation of the tenants of Home Ales in Nottingham; and if he will make a statement.

The chairman of Scottish and Newcastle Breweries has not requested a meeting.

I understand that the brewery is in negotiation with its tenants over the terms of their tenancy contracts. This is a commercial matter on which it would not be appropriate for me to comment.
