To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what estimates he can give of total annual attendance figures at(a) football, (b) cricket, (c) horse-racing and (d) all professional sporting events for the years 1984–85, 1985–86, 1986–87 and 1987–88.

The information is as followsInformation held by the relevant governing bodies and the Racecourse Publicity Agency gives the following estimated attendances: (a) Football : League matches and the major Cup competitions.
