§ Miss LestorTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list all the developing countries which have outstanding official debts, including export credits, to the United Kingdom and give figures for (i) their outstanding official debts in 1978 and in the latest year for which figures are available and (ii) the total amount of debt relief and cancellation of their debts between 1987 and the latest year.
§ Mr. Peter Lilley[holding answer 14 March 1988]: It is not the practice of this or previous Governments to reveal the exposure of the Export Credits Guarantee Department to individual countries. Figures for amounts at risk and debt restructuring by area are published in ECGD's "Summary of Audited Trading Results 1986–87." Information relating to other official debts is listed as follows:
