To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list the companies exhibiting products or services at the British Army equipment exhibition between 26 June and 1 July; and if he will make a statement.

In line with previous exhibitions the list of companies exhibiting products or services at the British Army equipment exhibition 88 will be published on 26 June 1988.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make it his policy to allow Amnesty International to have a stall at the British Army equipment exhibition in Aldershot between 26 June and 1 July; and if he will make a statement.

No. The British Army equipment exhibition is an exhibition to allow United Kingdom defence industry to show its products. Amnesty International is not part of the United Kingdom defence manufacturing industry.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list the countries whose representatives have been invited to the seventh British Army equipment exhibition at Aldershot from 26 June to 1 July 1988; and if he will make a statement.

In common with all my predecessors, I do not intend to publish a list of countries invited to the British Army equipment exhibition.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many visitors are expected at the British Army equipment exhibition in Aldershot between 26 June and 1 July.

Based on previous exhibitions, a total of some 25,000 visitors are expected to attend BAEE in Aldershot between 26 June and 1 July.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what will be the total cost for organising the British Army equipment exhibition between 26 June and 1 July; and who will perform the opening ceremony.

The cost of the British Army equipment exhibition, which we estimate will be £2.4 million, will be fully recovered from the participating companies. The opening ceremony will be performed by Secretary of State for Defence.
