HC Deb 27 October 1987 vol 121 c246W
51. Mr. Heathcoat-Amory

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he has any plans to visit the new royal united hospital in Bath.

Mrs. Currie

The last complete development at this hospital included 168 acute beds and a boilerhouse, costing £4.4 million, and was opened on 31 March 1987. It is part of the largest ever sustained National Health Service building programme. Throughout England 480 schemes, each costing over £1 million, with a total value of over £3 billion, are at various stages of planning, design and construction.

Ministers have no plans to visit this hospital at present.
