HL Deb 27 October 1987 vol 489 c530WA
Lord Allerton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether plans have been made to bypass the village of East Norton on the A.47 road; and if so whether, in view of recent accidents in this area, the date for its construction could be brought forward.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Transport (Lord Brabazon of Tara)

A preferred route for a bypass of East Norton was announced in autumn 1984. Detailed planning is now being undertaken. We hope to publish draft orders next summer. If a public inquiry proves necessary, the earliest date for a start of construction is 1990.
