§ Mr. Alan ClarkIn the 12 months to September 1987, exports of manufactures to the European Community amounted to £27.7 billion and imports to £38.5 billion resulting in a crude deficit of £10.8 billion. These figures are on the overseas trade statistic basis: imports, but not exports, include the cost of insurance and freight.
