To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he has appointed the social fund commissioner.

I am pleased to announce that Mrs. Rosalind Mackworth has agreed to serve as social fund commissioner for a period of three years from 1 December 1987. Mrs. Mackworth is the senior partner in a London firm of solicitors.
