21. Mr. Canavan

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what subjects were discussed at his last meeting with representatives of the Government of the Republic of Ireland.

Mr. Tom King

I refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave earlier to a question from the hon. Member for Birmingham, Erdington (Mr. Corbett).

36. Mr. Duffy

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he will make a statement on the measures agreed at the last meeting of the Intergovernmental Conference to gain the support of the minority in Northern Ireland for the administration of justice.

Mr. Tom King

At its meeting on 21 October the Intergovernmental Conference discussed, among other things, a report from the official group which reviewed the progress that had been made and the further measures that had been proposed to enhance public confidence in the administration of justice. It was agreed that the two sides should remain in close contact on this issue.
