HC Deb 12 November 1987 vol 122 c208W
Mr. Nicholas Bennett

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, in the light of recent advertisements for contraceptives and public information advertisements warning of the dangers of AIDS, he will examine those provisions of the Broadcasting Act 1981 which prohibit advertisements in respect of products which are deemed to be of a religious nature; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Renton

The statutory requirements governing religious advertisements are of long standing and we have no present plans to amend them.
