To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the latest estimate of the numbers of single people aged 18 to 59 years living with parents or relatives.

The number of single people aged 18 to 59 years living with parents or relatives is estimated to have been just over 4 million in England and Wales in 1981, the latest year for which information is available.
