§ Mr. TrippierSection 29A of the Town and Country Planning Act 1971 places a duty on local planning authorities when granting planning permission for offices, shops, railway premises, factories and buildings or premises to which the public are admitted to draw the attention of developers to the British Standard Institution code of practice for access for the disabled to buildings (BS5810;1979). Much of the information in the access committee's guidance notes is already contained in BS5810.
