Mr. Wray

asked the Prime Minister if she will make a statement on the Commonwealth meeting in Vancouver and, in particular, of the progress made in friendship, mutal respect and community of aims and interests between the member countries.

I refer the hon. Gentleman to the statement I made on Thursday 22 October 1987 at columns 921–22.

asked the Prime Minister what was the source of the figures quoted by the British delegation in the recent Vancouver meeting of the commonwealth, regarding trade between Canada and South Africa.

The figures quoted were taken from the International Monetary Fund's "Direction of Trade Statistics" for 1985 and 1986.

asked the Prime Minister what representations she received from the South African Government regarding her intervention on the issue of sanctions, during the Vancouver Commonwealth meeting; and if she will make a statement.
