HC Deb 05 November 1987 vol 121 c872W
Mr. McAllion

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list new policies from his Department in the past eight years as they affect hospitals in Dundee; and if he will give details of the extra resources made available to carry out each initiative.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

Guidance to health boards on overall priorities is based on the SHARE report; in addition, the Scottish Home and Health Department issues guidance on specific services from time to time. It is for each health board to determine how this guidance affects hospital services in their area. Resources available to the Health Service in Scotland have been increased in real terms by 26 per cent. since 1979. Tayside health hoard is the second best financed board in Scotland in relation to the needs of its area.
