Mr. Hood

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received about the roadworthiness and safety of ambulances in Clydesdale constituency; and if he will make a statement.

No such representations have been received.

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will detail the number of ambulances in the Clydesdale constituency.

There are 12 ambulances at Carluke, four at Douglas and two at Biggar. A further 77 ambulances may carry patients to and from Clydesdale depending on origin destination, vehicle availability and urgency.

Sixty-two ambulances are based in the Tayside health board area, 23 of which are based in the area of the city of Dundee district council. The requested information on the age of ambulances is not available centrally.
