HC Deb 03 November 1987 vol 121 c618W
Mr. Galloway

asked the Prime Minister what status the British Government accord to the African National Congress mission in London; and, in the light of recent events, what steps she will take to ensure its protection from terrorist attack.

The Prime Minister

The African National Congress is accorded no official status in this country. I understand that leading members of the congress have been given advice about their personal security by the police. On security matters, I refer the hon. Gentleman to the reply given by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Home Department to the hon. Member for Walsall, North (Mr. Winnick) on 27 October, at column204.
