It was also issued to the main national organisations in the fields of health and medical education, including the British Medical Association, General Medical Council, Medical Research Council, Association of Medical Research Charities, Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals of the Universities of the United Kingdom, Council for Postgraduate Medical Education, University Grants Committee, and a number560W of associations representing individual medical specialties. In addition, the full text of the consultative document was published in the British Medical Journal.
