§ Mr. WaddingtonSince 3 May 1987 several groups of Iraqi Kurds have travelled from Syria, via West Germany, on Lufthansa flights with forged documents and claimed asylum on arrival in the United Kingdom. All had previously been living in camps in Iran. Officials from the Department have discussed the applications with representatives of the refugee unit of the United Kingdom Immigrants' Advisory Service.
