Whether the privatised cleaning service in Wandsworth concentrates on owner-occupied areas and neglects council estates; and whether they will ask the council to require this discrimination, whether intentional or consequential on other policies, to cease.
§ Lord SkelmersdaleHer Majesty's Government have no responsibility for the operation of local authorities' cleaning services. Nevertheless I understand that Wandsworth have let two separate contracts, one for sweeping the public highways and one for the cleansing of private roads, grassed areas and internal communal areas on council estates. We have no evidence of discrimination.
