§ Mr. Amessasked the Secretary of State for Transport what information he has as to (a) the number of new express coach services which became available, (b) the level of fares and (c) the volume of passengers before and after the Transport Act 1980.
§ Mr. David MitchellBy 1982 the number of regular long distance coach services had increased by some 16 per cent. and fares had been reduced by up to 40 per cent. in real terms. It was estimated that the number of passengers had increased from 15 million a year to 18 million a year.
