asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when he expects to announce the allocation of the three further freezer trawler licences.

When the Fisheries Ministers have had the opportunity for careful consideration of the applications received.

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what criteria he will apply in considering applications for the three further freezer trawler licences.

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave to the hon. Member for St. Helens, North (Mr. Evans) on 17 February.

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what was the total number of applications for freezer trawler licences by 1 March.

Mr. Gummer

Thirty two applications have been received from 27 applicants.
