§ Mr. MellorThe available information is for proceedings, findings of guilt and fines at magistrates courts for the offences of a motor vehicle licence being obscured or not affixed, and resulting fines. This is published annually in "Offences relating to motor vehicles England and Wales", supplementary table 5 (page 12) of the issue for 1985, the latest year for which information is available. A copy is in the Library. The number of persons receiving custodial sentences for non-payment of fines and the amount of fines outstanding are not recorded centrally in respect of these offences.
