§ Mr. John MacKayFor individual health boards the information by specialty is only available as at 30 September 1985 and 31 March 1986. This is contained in the September 1985 and March 1986 editions of Scottish Health Service Manpower, published by the information services division of the Scottish Health Service, Common Services Agency, copies of which are available in the Library. Previously, the information was not held centrally in this form and could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
The table below shows the number of nurses (in whole-time equivalents) in each specialty on an all-Scotland basis for the years 1982 to 1986.
