Cash Limits

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he proposes to make any changes to the current cash limits for 1987–88.

Mr. Younger

Yes. The following changes are being made, subject to parliamentary approval of the necessary Summer Supplementary Estimate.

The increase in class I, vote 1 provision reflects some works services to be undertaken other than through the Property Services Agency. The works in question are port facilities which will be constructed by a private commercial company on the Ministry's behalf. With the necessary money being transferred from class I, vote 4, this change has no effect on public expenditure.
