§ Mr. Gwilym Jonesasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what consideration he gives, when determining applications for experiments upon animals, to the development of alternative protections for those employed in manufacturing where there is exposure to chemicals and other materials in bulk of possible harmful levels; and if he will make a statement;
(2) what are the latest available figures for experiments upon animals; what were the comparable figures for five and 10 years previously; and if he will make a statement.
