§ Sir David Priceasked the Secretary of State for Energy if, in making his decision about the proposed siting by the Central Electricity Generating Board of a 1800MW coal-fired power station at Fawley, he will take into account a possible source of pollution dangers to those communities who live downwind from Fawley on the east side of Southampton Water and the potential risk to the Hamble river; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Michael SpicerMy right hon. Friend has not yet received any application from the Central Electricity Generating Board for consent for the construction of a coal-fired power station at Fawley. If such an application is made, he will take all relevant points into account in reaching his decision.
