§ Ms. Walleyasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will give details of all asbestos monitoring which has been undertaken in the Palace of Westminster and its associated outbuildings, specifying the locations and the condition of the asbestos found; if he will list by location all the remedial works currently planned or in progress, together with the timetables involved; and if, in the case of any remedial work which has been decided upon but not yet scheduled, he will give details of the condition of the asbestos and the assessment of the health hazard posed.
§ Mr. ChopeThere are some 40 locations on the parliamentary estate where asbestos is known to exist. These are inspected annually. I will write to the hon. Member with the details she requests and place copies in the Library.
