(2) what is his policy towards the United States proposal for on-site inspection of the dismantling of Soviet intermediate range missiles;

(3) what is his policy towards the United States proposal that the Soviets should grant United States inspectors 24 hour access to Soviet plants and facilities concerned with intermediate nuclear force in the wake of an agreement.

Mr. Mellor

The details of the verification regime to be applied in an intermediate nuclear force agreement are still being negotiated between the United States and the Soviet Union. The details of the negotiations are confidential. The United States is consulting the United Kingdom and other basing countries closely.
