Dr. David Clark

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will list the biographical details of the members of the Food Advisory Committee, including their connections with the food industry; how long they are appointed for; and if he will make a statement.

Biographical details of the members of the Food Advisory Committee are publicly announced on their appointment. I am, however, happy to repeat this information here.

Principal of the Good Housekeeping Institute. She has previously worked for the Medical Research Council, at its Clinical Research Centre at Harrow and the Dunn Nutrition Unit, Cambridge. She is Secretary of the Nutrition Society. 1 November 1986

The appointment of each member is reviewed at least every three years. Members are appointed for their personal knowledge and experience and do not represent particular factions. It is inevitable that some of the best technical expertise will come from the food industry.
