§ Sir Hector Monroasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is able to announce the designation of further environmentally sensitive areas in Scotland.
§ Mr. RifkindThree further environmentally sensitive areas will now be designated in Scotland: the Machair Lands of the Uists and Benbecula; the Whitlaw/Eildon area of the Borders region and the Loch Ken/River Dee valley in the Stewartry district of Dumfries and Galloway. Further consultations will be held with interested bodies in each of those areas before the designating orders are made.
