§ Mr. GristThe latest available information derives from the 1981 census. At that time there were 139,268 people usually resident in Wales who were of pensionable age in single person private households in permanent buildings; they represented 27.6 per cent. of usual residents in that age group. Equivalent figures for the age group 75 and over were 58,591 persons and 36.9 per cent.
