What is the current annual cost to the Exchequer of fees paid to opticians in respect of eyesight tests and all other costs related to the provision of spectacles.

Provision in Estimates for 1987–88 for expenditure on sight tests in Great Britain is £110.8 million. Provision for all other National Health Service costs related to the supply of spectacles is £54.6 million.
