HC Deb 20 July 1987 vol 120 c58W
Mr. Foulkes

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make it his policy to ensure protection of British subjects involved in terrorist activities in other countries.

Mr. Hurd

It is for our police to ensure that terrorists are apprehended and brought to justice whenever and wherever they commit a terrorist act. At the Venice economic summit in June, Heads of State or Government, reaffirmed the principle established by relevant international conventions of trying or extraditing according to national laws and those international conventions, those who have perpetrated acts of terrorism.
