Mr. Matthew Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Transport when he proposes to respond to the proposal in the third report from the Transport Committee on financing of rail services H.C. 383, Session 1986–87, that British Rail should consider individual line management for the Cornish lines; and if he will make a statement.

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if, when the Minister next meets the senior management of British Rail, he will raise the possibility of individual line management and promotion for areas such as Cornwall, as suggested in the third report of the Transport Committee on financing of rail services, H.C.383, Session 1986–87; and if he will make a statement.
