HC Deb 20 July 1987 vol 120 c11W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what provisions exist in each county of Wales for the inspection of nursing and residential homes for the elderly; and how many people in each case are employed in the inspection of such homes.

Mr. Grist

A statutory duty is placed upon health authorities and county councils in Wales to inspect regularly private nursing and residential homes, including those for the elderly. It is for each individual authority to determine the numbers of staff it employs for this purpose.
