asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he will make a statement on the future of RAF North Luffenham.

I wrote to the hon. Member on 2 July to inform him that we envisage a long-term future for RAF North Luffenham and no loss of employment prospects there.

An announcement to the personnel at the station to this effect has recently been made.
