Mr. Michael J.Martinasked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he next intends to meet the chairman of Guinness plc to discuss the implications for the Scottish economy and, in particular, for employment in the Port Dundas area of the Glasgow, Springburn constituency, of the future development of the company.
§ Mr. LangMy right hon. and learned Friend and I have met the chairman of Guinness on a number of occasions and will do so again if we judge a meeting to be appropriate. We fully recognise that the future success of the company will be beneficial to the Scottish economy in general and to the prosperity of the hon. Member's constituency in particular.
