Friend is referring to proposals relating to the future ownership of British Sugar plc, he will know that those proposals were referred to the282W Monopolies and Mergers Commission. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry is now considering the commission's report. I cannot therefore comment on the issues involved, but I can assure my hon. Friend that we are well aware of the views of the Government of Mauritius, as of other cane sugar suppliers, which will be taken into account in considering the report.
