§ Mr. LuceThe dispersal programme announced on 26 July 1979 does not include any transfer of posts to the northern region. Full details of posts that may have been transferred there by Departments for management reasons are not held centrally, but the Government continue to provide a substantial number of Civil Service jobs in the region; in fact, over 33,000 posts. This represents a higher proportion of the regional labour force than in many other regions in the country and is above the national average.
