§ Mr. D. E. Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will list the categories of information held by his Department on civil nuclear power which are deemed necessary to be kept secret on grounds of national interest.
§ Mr. Goodlad[pursuant to his reply, 12 January 1987, c. 80]: The categories of information to which security classifications apply are the same for civil nuclear power as for all other subjects. Security classifications apply only to information the unauthorised disclosure of which would not be in the interests of the nation and to information passed to us by another country on the express understanding that it shall be treated as classified information.
