§ Mr. D. E. Thomasasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to his answer to the hon. Member for Meirionnydd Nant Conwy of 16 January, Official Report, column 336, if he will list those practical difficulties involved in producing and using convenient bilingual versions of forms used under part III of the Transport Act 1982.
§ Mr. Douglas HoggA substantial amount of information needs to be included in a fixed penalty notice for it to conform to the law, and the forms need to be produced in a format in which they can reasonably be carried by police officers in their tunic or shirt pocket. It would be difficult to produce bilingual forms which meet both these requirements.
