§ 32. Mr. Wallaceasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what discussions he had with the United States Secretary of State regarding the development of the strategic defence initiative and its relevance to international treaty obligations.
§ Mr. RentonAs I told the hon. Member on 3 December 1986, we regularly hold discussions with the United States Administration on a wide range of political military issues. The ABM treaty, to which the United Kingdom is not a party, is raised in the course of these discussions as appropriate. My right hon. and learned Friend last met Mr. Shultz on 6–7 January in Bermuda.
